Shenandoah Community Health (SCH) recently hosted a farewell luncheon to celebrate the contributions of Dr. Dawn Jones, outgoing Chief Medical Officer (CMO).
Dr. Jones came to SCH as an Internist in 2001 and transitioned to Associate Chief Medical Officer in 2008 before becoming Chief Medical Officer in 2014. Throughout her twenty years with the organization she saw the expansion of the first SCH location on Route 45 to the current 60 thousand square foot facility on Tavern Road in Martinsburg. Her clinical guidance was invaluable during the consolidation of women’s health, midwifery and behavioral health services into one location as well as the expansion of services to include an oral health center—Healthy Smiles, and location in Winchester, Virginia. More recently, Dr. Jones leadership has helped guide the organization through a national public health emergency.
SCH sincerely appreciates Dr. Jones’ commitment to the mission of the organization and her leadership and service to the patients of SCH and the community. “Her contributions have been invaluable in furthering the mission of SCH to provide access to comprehensive high quality health care services to all members of the community regardless of their ability to pay” comments Mike Hassing, CEO, SCH. Please join us in celebrating her contributions and wishing her well.
